YOU ALREADY HAVE WHAT YOU NEED

There was a song back in the 70’s that said, “Oz never did give nothing to the Tin man, that he didn’t…didn’t already have.”  The Tin man possessed what he needed to function, even though he believed he didn’t have it.  When it was pointed out to him that he had a heart, he began to feel it beating.

Although in the song it did not mention that the scarecrow, who didn’t think he had a brain, truly had one and when told he did.  His mind was open to all kinds of intelligent possibilities.  The cowardly lion also was told he was King of the Forest.  He began to act the part.

This is so true of what we have in Christ Jesus.  2 Peter 1:3 tells us, “His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.”   What does it grant that we shall have?  (His Devine POWER grants, EVERYTHING pertaining to life and godliness)  When we accept Jesus into our lives these things are ours to claim.  In Genesis God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”

Let your mind wrap around that thought for a minute.  We were created in His image.  Do you know we can be transformed from one place to another?  Now before you start thinking I’ve gone off the deep end.  Check the word of God out.
John 6: 16 - 21 (16) Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, (17) and after getting into a boat, they started to cross the sea to Capernaum. It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.  (18) The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing.  (19) Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were frightened.  (20) But He said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”  (21) So they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.  OK I bet your saying, but that was Jesus.  Read Act 8 in verses 39 and 40 it is telling the story of Philip taking a Eunuch and baptizing him. (39) When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing.  (40) But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he kept preaching the gospel to all the cities until he came to Caesarea.  I met a man recently that was preaching and all of a sudden found himself in another country.  He went to a door and knocked walked through the door and a child (girl) was crying and he knelt down with her and led her to Christ.  He later got a letter from the girl thanking him.  Then he suddenly came back into the church he was in and he was still preaching as if he never left.

Psalm 139:13 & 14 also says, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are thy works; and my soul knows it right well.”  So if we were created in His image and fearfully and wonderfully made, then we truly can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us, as it says in Philippians 4:13.  We possess all that we need to survive and to do more than just survive.  Jesus told us we would do even greater things than He did.  Imagine that!   "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.  He said in John 14:12.

Brothers and sisters it’s time we started walking in the realm of the Spirit the Lord expects us to! Believe it and do it!  You already have what you need!
